WELLNESS TIP: Our bodies are highly dependent on the strength of our immune system and the body’s ability to kill invading viruses when it comes to preventing colds and flu in the Fall en Winter season. One of the natural and very soothing remedies that can boost our immune system in this time of the year is – besides healthy food and nutrition, moderate exercise, enough sleep and relaxation – a well done Hammam treatment.
WELLNESS TIP: Moving into colder and wet weather, we transition between being outdoors to being more indoors. We should drink hot fluids, more specifically, hot teas. We use spices as a flavor to a main dish, but we can also spice up our tea! Autumn is the perfect season for hot, spiced teas.
Forest Bathing is more than just a walk in the park or woods, it is “taking in the forest atmosphere” – a translation of the Japanese “shinrin-yoku”. Using all your senses, quietly walking, stop and explore, experiencing every sound, scent, color of the forest. You just wander slowly, breathe deeply and mindfully, maybe something you want to do by yourself, alone.
Every season brings with it its own energy, values and dynamics. But in autumn we can probably learn more about ourselves than in any other season; it forces us to return to our very essence. It is the time of the year where we look for the things that add value to our lives and where we have to let go of everything we no longer need to create space for future growth and expansion.
A great Yoga asana: when the seasons change, especially from the spring into summer and from the summer into the fall we seem to get more out of balance than during other seasonal transitions
